About Laura
Hi! My name’s Laura, I’m an independent celebrant based in the Surrey Hills and I love LOVE!
As well as being a full time celebrant I’m also a mum and a widow, so I’ve experienced love in many guises.
I am passionate about celebrating life and would love to help you celebrate you and your loved-one’s lives.
I provide bespoke ceremonies for all life events. If you like what you see please get in touch and we can discuss what you are looking to celebrate and I’m sure I can help.
More about why I do what I do…

I’m one for a bit of an ‘African tail’, so grab a cuppa and have a read…
I met my husband in 2010; it was a blind date! I was in my 30s and had all but given up on finding a life partner (so young and naïve back then). In fact, for the first few months of our courtship, I wasn’t sure it would work out at all! He was far too nice for me! Fast forward 5 years, and he finally proposed! We had the BEST wedding (although I would do the service so differently now 😉) – my old boss still describes it as one of her top 3 hangovers – a sure sign of a good ‘do’! And we settled down to a pretty ‘normal’ life in leafy Surrey.
We then decided we wanted kids. That wasn’t so easy—2 rounds of IVF not easy, in fact—but eventually, we hit the jackpot, and our beautiful baby arrived. Fast forward again through a ridiculous number of photos to the tune of ‘3 is the magic number,’ and in 2022, the most unthinkable thing happened. My beautiful, kind-hearted husband got pancreatitis and died within 24 hours. The world opened up and swallowed me whole! It was the worst time of my life; I couldn’t breathe. To be honest, to this day, I don’t know how I got through.
But what I do know is that he would want me to find the good, as he always did. Find the positive and live my best life. So here I am, doing my best to be my best. Part of that was a complete career change! It’s funny how these life events shape you. I realised quite quickly that I was not the person that had woken up on that fateful day. I looked around to find something I could do that had purpose and could go some way to helping people!
I have had deep joy in my life, and I have had unimaginable grief, but through it all, I am determined to celebrate. I very much hope I can help you do the same!
